_____________________________________________。
十六.
请思考以下的问题:扫罗和大卫,谁“强”,谁“弱”?________
害扫罗或不害扫罗,哪样难?______________
还是把事情交托给神,慢慢地等待他的时间?___________________________。

Samuel 26: David Spares Saul’s Life for the Second Time
1.
Who told King Saul that
David was
hiding on the hill of Hachilah?
_____________________
2.
The Wilderness of Ziph is located about ten kilometers southeast of
Hebron. Find Hebron on a Bible map.
3.
How many soldiers did King Saul take with him to search for David?
4.
What was Saul doing when David found him? Who was with David?
5.
Vs. 8-11: “Abishai said to David, ‘God
has given your e_____ into your hand today; now therefore let me pin him
to the ground with one s______ of the s_____; I will not s______ him
twice.’ But David said to Abishai, ‘Do not d_______ him; for who can
raise his hand against the LORD's
a________, and be g_________?’ David said, ‘As the
LORD lives, the
LORD will strike him down;
or his day will come to die; or he will go down into battle and perish.
The LORD forbid that I
should r_____ my hand against the
LORD's anointed; but now take the s_____ that is at his head, and
the water j____, and let us go’” (NRSV).
6. Why did David take King Saul’s spear and water jar?
7. Vs. 12: Why did King Saul’s bodyguard not prohibit
David from taking the spear and water jar?
8. What did David do after this?
9. Who was Abner? (Remember this man’s name.)
10. What sarcastic remark did David make to Abner?
11. In what attitude did David reason with King Saul and
vindicate himself?
12. What did David say to Saul?
13. How did King Saul respond? What did Saul promise
David?
14. Vs. 24-25: David spoke to the King: “’As your life
was p________ today in my sight, so may my life be p________ in the
sight of the LORD, and may
he rescue me from all tribulation.’ Then Saul said to David, ‘B_______
be you, my son David! You will do many things and will s_______ in
them.’ So David went his way, and Saul returned to his place” (NRSV).
15. Apply this chapter, the record of how David spared
Saul’s life a second time, to your own life. (See also Matthew chapter
18.)
16. Consider this question:
Of
Saul and David, who was “strong,” and who was “weak”?
Which was
more difficult, to harm Saul or not to harm him?
My
meaning is, from the viewpoint of morality, which was more difficult?
David had both opportunity and ability to harm Saul. “Vengeance” comes
easy; “self-control” is difficult. While it cannot be said that
vengeance is unheard of in the Bible, the fact is that, especially in
the New Testament, vengeance is not seen as a virtue, nor is it
something that God smiles upon. “Vengeance is mine,” says God in
Deuteronomy 32:35; see also Romans 12:17-21.
17.
Whom do you and I today seem more like? Saul or David? In the depths
of our hearts, do we wish to harm our enemies? Or, do we turn the
problem over to God and await his time?
