1. How did David save the citizens of Keilah?
2. When King Saul heard that David was in Keilah, why did Saul think he could prevail over David?
3. David had the priest Abiathar bring the ephod in order to ask God what?
4. What was the answer? What did this cause David to do?
5. Earlier, David had about four hundred men (see 1 Samuel 22:2); how many men were with David at the present time? Why do you think the number of David’s followers continued to increase?
6. Vs. 14: “David remained in the strongholds in the wilderness, in the hill country of the Wilderness of Z___. Saul sought him every day, but the LORD did not give him into his h___” (NRSV).
7. Although King Saul searched for David but could not find him, who did find David?
8. What did these two men talk about, and what covenant did they make?
9. Jonathan thought that in the future he would hold what position? How do we see Jonathan’s attitude of humility in this?
