Uses of the word appropriate:
1-1. Many decisions are made on the grounds of whether a behavior is appropriate or not.
行为是否恰当，可以决定很多的事情。
1-2. Something that is appropriate in one culture may not be appropriate in another culture.
一个文化看为恰当的事情（行动等），在另一个文化就不一定是恰当的。
1-3. It is not appropriate to praise a third person’s cooking when eating a meal at someone’s house.
在别人的家吃饭的时候夸奖另外一个人的饭菜是不恰当的。
2-1. In general, it is not appropriate for a man to visit a woman’s residence if there is not a third person present.

在美国，在餐厅吃饭时，应该把账单总数的百分之十五给服务员为小费。
